It’s been Sohaila Humayon’s lifelong dream to open her own restaurant, and her dream has finally come true. She’s serving Pakistani cuisine, with a couple of Indian dishes as well, at her humble food stand in the Lenexa Public Market. You’ll hear from both Sohaila and her daughter Amna who joins us in the studio.

Grilled boneless chicken in a creamy, rich batter of homemade spices, caramelized tomatoes, butter, and heavy whipping cream, served over white rice.
Basmati rice flavored with exotic spices like saffron and layered in a thick gravy with your choice of meat such as chicken, goat, or beef. Served with cucumber yogurt sauce (Raitah).
Ground beef or chicken mixed with a blend of homemade spices, served with a side of saffron rice.
Lentil soup topped with spiced oil, cilantro, and garlic.
A rich mutton stew with a mélange of homemade spices such as cardamom and garam masala in a thick, creamy, curry-like sauce.
Deep-fried vegetarian pastry filled with potatoes and peas, served with a side of Jalapeno-Cilantro-Lime Chutney.
About the Region
Sohaila was born in Lahore, Pakistan and is bringing Pakistani and Indian cuisine to Kansas City.
